Alfredo Jimenez Chapa, 77, of Plainview passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2019 at Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery. A prayer service and visitation will be at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Lemons Funeral Home. Viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Alfredo was born on March 21, 1942 in Alice, TX to Christobal and Esperanza Chapa. He moved to Plainview as a child, where he was raised and attended schools. He worked as a farmer and helper throughout the South Plains most of his life. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed dancing. Most of all, Alfredo loved his family and cherished time spent with them.
He is survived by 6 children, Alfonso Chapa and wife Ramona of Kress, Tammy Chapa and husband Felix Martinez of Ballinger, Alfredo Chapa, Jr. and wife Gracie Hernandez of Lubbock, David Chapa and wife Priscila of Hale Center, Stella Maria Chapa and husband Juan Moya of Plainview and Yvette Estrada and husband Frank of Plainview; 8 brothers, Ruben Chapa and wife Bonnie of Arnold, MO, Albert Chapa and wife Loy of Plainview, Robert Chapa of Amarillo, Christobal Chapa and wife Flora of Amarillo, Mike Chapa and wife Olga of Bullhead, AZ, George Chapa and wife Mary of Lubbock, Tony Chapa and wife Thelma of Plainview, Jeff Chapa and wife Cindee of Tucson, AZ; 2 sisters, Viola Esquivel and husband Ruben of Chicago, IL and Olga Sarabia and husband Pete of Bastrop, TX; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Alfredo was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Virginia Villarreal.
