Robertson, John Cosby, Mrs. (Venda Young)

HALE CENTER - Funeral services for Venda Robertson, 95, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with Dustin Heinen and the Rev. Jimmy Cameron officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Family visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Robertson died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at Prairie House Living Center in Plainview. She was born Aug. 1, 1912. She married John Cosby Robertson on Oct. 19, 1933, in Clovis, N.M. She lived in Hale Center since 1950, moving from Sudan. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hale Center.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Anderson of Dallas, Jane Drake of Granbury and Sue Dunn of High Point, N.C.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Her husband; one daughter, Johnnie Rhodes Ashley; and a grandson, Scott Dunn, are deceased.
