Langston, William Fredrick (Bill)

William Fredrick ?Bill? Langston, 87, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Roger Foote officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Langston was born on July 5, 1927 in Happy, Texas to Otto & Nellie Irene Langston.

He married Sue Anderson on April 15, 1950.

Mr. Langston served in the U.S. Army/Air Force during WWII. He worked as a water & oil well driller and farmed in Plainview and the surrounding areas for his entire life with a particular passion of raising alfalfa hay. His love was to travel to watch all of his children from a young age to adulthood participate in their rodeo events. His tremendous work ethic and unfaltering dedication to provide for his family in such an unselfish manner was seen by his family every day.

He is preceded in death by two sisters: Imogene Walker and Gertrude Trotter and three brothers: Troy Langston, Robert Langston and Donald Langston.

Mr. Langston is survived by his wife: Sue Langston of Plainview; three daughters: Billie Sue Crooks of Plainview, Teressa King & husband Ricky of Plainview and Christine Langston of Plainview; two sons: Rickie Langston & wife Janet of Brownwood and Fredie Langston & wife Teri of Amarillo; one sister: Dorothy Richardson of Plainview; nine grandchildren: Chad Crooks, Kyle Crooks & wife Melissa, Kayla Crooks Autry & husband John, Amanda Langston Smith & husband Brad, Jason Langston & wife Angie, Joshua Langston & wife Missa, Johnathan Langston, Corey Gaither and Ty King; six great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law: Ann Langston, Jerry Bob Langston and Delia Langston and one brother-in-law: Les Trotter.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
