Obituary

Rogers, Charles (Glenn)

Charles ?Glenn? Rogers, 67, of Plainview, Texas, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. A life-long resident of Plainview, Glenn was born to Charles ?Gordon? Rogers and Jo Ann (Harvey) Rogers on December 26, 1951. After graduating from Plainview High School in 1970, he studied welding at Amarillo College. He served in the National Guard for two years. On May 2, 1981, Glenn married Shelda Sisk, and they had two children, Chesna and Luke.

Glenn owned and operated Hi Performance Equip Co., a full-service gas station that sold performance car parts. He had a passion for hot rod cars, and he ran with a tight-knit group of friends known as ?The Plainview Fat Boys.? On the weekends you could always find Glenn at a car show or swap meet with his two redheaded kids in tow. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles and going to the lake. Glenn loved country music; he especially loved the fiddle and everyone who played it. He was known for his great sense of humor, practical jokes, and his gardening abilities?most recently on display right in his front yard! Although friends knew a night on the town with Glenn might get you into some trouble, they also knew he was the type of person to drop everything to help a friend. He had such a big heart and was the type of person to do anything for anyone. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles ?Gordon? Rogers. He is survived by his mother, Jo Ann Rogers; son, Casey ?Luke? Rogers and wife, Meghan, of Lubbock, TX; daughter, Chesna Myers and husband Adam of Ft. Worth, TX; brother, Ronny Rogers and wife, Jill, of Runaway Bay, TX; three grandchildren: Sam and Violet Myers of Ft. Worth, TX and Emmett Rogers of Lubbock, TX; former spouse and friend, Shelda Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may greet the family at a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Bartley Funeral Home on Friday, January 4, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Plainview, Texas. The family asks all of his car buddies to bring their hot rods to the service in his memory. Following the service, everyone is invited to cruise out to Hi Performance to reminisce.

Memorial contributions may be made to:
