Garcia, Martin Luna

Martin Luna Garcia, age 83 of Plainview, passed away on December 14, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Lemons Memorial Chapel with Terry Wright officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5-8:00P.M. at Lemons Funeral Home. Arrangements under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Martin was born on December 16, 1934 to Rodolfo Garcia and Feliciana Luna in Ralls, TX. He married Isabel Fuentes on March 29, 1954 in Hale Center and spent 63 happy years together until her passing on October 3, 2017. Martin was a retired mechanic and worked on the rail road for 8 years. He was a very humble man. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Buying lottery tickets and playing bingo were his favorite hobbies. Martin enjoyed watching western movies and sports, mainly tennis. He liked to dance. Overall, he was a champion! Martin was a member of St. Theresa?s Catholic Church in Hale Center.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Isabel Garcia; two sons: Armando Garcia and Manuel Garcia; and four grandchildren.
Martin is survived by six sons: Arthur Garcia and wife Silvia of Amarillo, Martin Garcia Jr., Jerry Garcia and wife Nelda, Jesse Garcia and wife Lisa all of Carlsbad, NM, Juan Garcia of Amarillo, and Luis Garcia and wife Lydia of Carlsbad, NM; four daughters: Mary Rodriguez of Plainview, Teresa Garcia of Austin, Isabel Garcia and husband Reymundo Duarte of Amarillo, and Guadalupe Garcia of Hale Center; 45 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 99 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Gloria Soto of Arizona and Josie Ratner and husband Bill of Indiana.
