Borchardt, Joan

Joan Borchardt, 89 of Plainview passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Kornerstone Chapel. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Joan was born on July 21, 1929 in the Bellview community southeast of Plainivew to Robert W. and Annie Borchardt. She attended grammar school at Bellview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1946. She attended Lippert?s Business School in Plainview and spent her career as a bookkeeper, working for Garrison Oil Company, formerly Baker Flash-O-Gas and Texas Energy. She retired in 2013.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother Robert Borchardt, her sister Evelyn Williamson and a nephew, Terry Austin Cornelius.

She is survived by one sister, Maurine Cornelius and husband Jimmy; eleven nieces and nephews, Wayne Borchardt, Henry Borchardt, Jerry Williamson, Layne Williamson, Jimmy W. Cornelius, Virginia Hamilton, Sharon Wahlin, Marilyn Brown, Anna Price, Linda Rice and Rhonda Abbott and a host of relatives, friends and caregivers.
