James C. Dement, 93 of Dallas, formerly of Lubbock, Houston and Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 11 o? clock in the morning on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Plainview Memorial Park with Keeney Dickenson, pastor at First Baptist Church in Crockett, TX, officiating. The family will receive friends at 10 o? clock that morning at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

James was born on July 3, 1925 to Marvin E. and Eula C. Dement in Paris, TX. He was raised and educated in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School. James went on to graduate from Texas Tech as well. He was an Assistant Treasurer for Tenneco Inc and retired in 1985. James enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and reading. He married the love of his life, Marcine Keeney, on March 12, 1946 at First Baptist Church in Plainview. They enjoyed life together until her passing on October 31, 2014. James proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a WW II veteran. He was a former member of Cornerstone Church in Lubbock.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and one brother.

James is survived by one son: James Dement and wife Katy of Lake Zurich, IL and three daughters: Marcia Galeoto and husband Raymond of Ocala, FL, Mary Williams and husband Chris of Arlington and Sara Dement and husband Kenneth Reese of Dallas; two nieces: Anna Gant and Kenda Trollinger; two nephews: Bill Dement and Keeney Dickenson; six grandchildren: Russell, Gemma, Stephen, John, Jeremy and Allison and one great grandchild: Joshua.

Military Honors will be presented by American Legion Post 141.
