Janette Draper of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away on September 20th, 2018 in Albuquerque. She was born on February 6th, 1941 in Plainview Texas to Milo and Margaret Draper. Janette graduated from Plainview High School in Plainview Texas. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and her teaching certificate from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

Her life was dedicated to making a difference in the education of Children. She also had her degree in Early Childhood Literacy. She spent 40 years teaching at Valle Vista Elementary School. According to her retirement letter from staff, other teachers, and students, she was magical in her ability to find a way to get her students to learn. She worked late nights and weekends. She had her fun side also on Halloween when she would dress up as a black-caped witch, leading the costumed kids through halls and rooms for a little pretend fun. She did this year after year and all the kids wanted to learn to read so they could be in her class. She cared about others and helped so many people. She was a member of St. Johns Methodist Church. Funeral date and times are pending.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Margaret Draper. She has two living sisters, Michele Draper and Linda Golightly. Also 3 nephews, Jay Golightly, Reg Golightly and Rod Golightly plus 6 grand nieces and nephews.

Currently, services are pending as family gathers.
