Valenzuela, Juan Villa, Mrs. (Margarita Griego)

Margarita Griego Valenzuela, 82 of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 o? clock in the morning on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father George Poonely officiating and Deacon Benny Brito assisting. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o? clock in the evening on Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Margarita was born on July 16, 1936 to Juan C. Griego & Bernarda Rivera in Lubbock, TX. She was happily married to Juan Villa Valenzuela until his passing on November 1, 2004. Margarita enjoyed being a homemaker and was a social butterfly. She never met a stranger. Margarita was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers: Nick and Juan R Griego and one sister Clara Araujo.
Margarita is survived by two sons: David Joe Luna and wife Angela Massiatte, and Ben Vidal Moreno both of Plainview; six daughters: Janie Rodriguez and husband Joe of Ripley, Oklahoma, Josie Torres and husband Cruz of Austin, Minnesota, Lucy Quintanilla and husband Demas of Bardwell, TX, Margie Luna and husband Juan Martinez of Garland TX, Mary Helen Benavente and husband Rutilio of Plainview TX, and Sandra Marquez and husband Jesse Noriega of Garland TX; one brother: Frank Griego and twenty-five grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
