Temple, James Dale, Mrs. (Phyllis Clementine Truitt)

Phyllis Clementine Truitt Temple, age 91, of Plainview passed away June 14, 2015.

Funeral Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18, 2015 at College Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Yates officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park.

Phyllis was born December 1, 1923 in Alma Oklahoma to George Bryant and Mary Ella (Garrison) Truitt. She married the love of her life, James Dale Temple on April 15, 1938 and they moved to Plainview in 1945. They shared a loving, devoted marriage for 62 years until his passing in 2000.

Phyllis enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. One of her passions was serving the church through a greeting card ministry for years and years. She served as director of the Women's Missionary Union. She was an avid tea pot collector. Mrs. Temple lived with her dear sister, Joy Berner after her husband's passing and the two sisters enjoyed a wonderful relationship for seven years.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband James Temple and one brother, Norma Jean Truitt.

She is survived by one son, Ronnie Temple and wife Shelby of Kentucky; one daughter, Glenda Adkins of Amarillo; two sisters, Joy Berner of Plainview and Elva June Rogers of Houston; 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
