Taylor, Bill, Mrs. (Neva Lynelle Short Jones)

A chapel service for Neva Lynelle Taylor, 60, of Plainview will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Patrick of Trinity Life Church officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Neva passed from this life on August 28, 2018.

Neva Lynelle Taylor was born on December 6, 1957 to Darlene Lucille Vogel Short and Lloyd Alvin Short in Mercedes, Texas. Neva married John Roland Jones on March 28, 1976, and they had two sons Robert Lloyd Jones and Michael Roland Jones. John passed away in 1982. Neva later married Bill Taylor on March 25, 2007 in Cameron, TX. Bill passed away on July 6, 2017.

Neva owned the Shady Lane RV Park in Plainview, TX. She was a past member of the Optimist Club and Cub Scout Leader in Mineral Wells, TX. In addition, she was a long term employee of Phillips Components in Mineral Wells. She truly loved her dog, Lady, and tending to her flowers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Robert Jones and Michael Jones of Plainview; brother Dale Short and wife Viola of Denton, TX; brother Brett Short and wife Nanette of Angleton, TX; and two grandchildren Noah and Oliva Jones of New Braunfels, TX.

Survivors also include three nephews, one niece, five great nieces and three great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and niece, Yvette Marie Short.

Pallbearers will be Brooks Short, Danny Short, PJ Jones, Ricky Garcia, BJ Terry and Gonzalo Reyna.
