Obituary

Shuping, Vic

Vic Shuping, 64 of Plainview, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 o? clock in the afternoon on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Jeremy Gilbert, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Vic was born on September 7, 1953 to Robert and Arlene Shuping in Tulia, TX. They lived in Kress, Brownfield and Hale Center but he spent a lot of his time in Floydada with his cousin, Eddie Jean. In 1972, he met his soulmate, the lovely Judy Hamilton and graduated Hale Center High School in 1973. Shortly after graduation on July 1, 1973, they exchanged vows. They then moved to Amarillo, so Vic could further his education and attend TSTI, Texas State Technical Institute. After graduating there, they moved to Plainview and Vic worked at RC Magnum and Tiner Machine Shop. By the time he was 30, he owned his own business, J&S Engine Machine. Four years later, he had his 3rd spinal procedure, which left him in a wheel chair, but he continued to work selflessly to support his family. He refused to allow his surgery or disability to slow him down or let him think he couldn?t get things done. So much so, that in the early 1990?s he built on to his own house. Vic drew up the floorplans and did most of the physical work himself. Only 2 years ago, he was still up on his roof fixing damaged shingles and plumbing under the house. If there was a will, Vic would find a way to get it done. He remained a very strong and patient man throughout his entire life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding four wheelers and going to the casinos in Las Vegas. Vic was a loving husband who was happily married for 44 years until Judy?s passing not even 5 months ago. He was an exceptional father and grandfather as well. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and played an active role in helping raise all 3 of them. For this, and many other reasons, Vic will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Judy; parents; and one brother: Bobby.

Vic is survived by one son: Jimmy Shuping of New Home; one daughter: Sabrina Shuping of Plainview; and three grandchildren.
