Carr, Owen

Owen Carr, 63, of Petersburg died in Lubbock on Monday, April 30, 2018. A memorial will be held at Main Street Church of Christ in Petersburg at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 with Randall Carr officiating. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.

A visitation will be held following the service at Main Street Church of Christ.

Owen was born on May 28, 1954 to Roy Alton Carr and Helen Leotis France Carr in Dallas, TX. He passed from this life on April 30, 2018 in Lubbock, TX surrounded by his kids. Owen served for twenty-nine years as the Minister for the Main Street Church of Christ in Petersburg, TX. He was a graduate from the Sunset School of Preaching in 1987. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Ministry from Lubbock Christian University in 1999. In addition to these, he received multiple graduate degrees from Lubbock Christian University focusing on Bible and Family Studies.

Owen was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Carr. He is survived by his father, Roy Carr of Mt. Vernon, TX; a sister Elaine Collins and husband Jerry, of Mt. Vernon, TX; four kids, Mandy Martin and husband Tully, of Idalou, TX, Brandon Carr and wife Katie, of Knox City, TX, Randall Carr and wife Tamber of Abernathy, TX, Carrie Bower and husband Luke of Abilene, TX, and nine grandchildren: Kinann, Brayden, Case, Cole, Rylan, Kateleigh, Annabelle, Brynn, and John Luke.
