Patton, William Fayne (Pat), Mrs. (Ora Mae Petty)

SAN ANTONIO - Ora Mae Patton, formerly Ann Hoffman, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2008. She worked at Plainview Hospital and Clinic from 1954-61.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmie Draper.

She is survived by her two sons, Arthur Hoffman Jr. and Thomas E. Hoffman; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside service held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, at Plainview Memorial Park.

Mom was the youngest of six kids. She was born in Swenson, TX on January 28, 1923. Her parents were Solon Petty and Florence Mandy Linn Petty. My Grandmother, Florence Mandy is buried in Plainview Cemetery next to Carl. When Mom started working at the Plainview Hospital, she worked in the laundry, then the Dining room and became a nurse. She became an LVN in 1957 and worked in the Obstetrician Ward until May 1961. She married William Fayne '"Pat" Patton on Christmas Day 1960. They moved to Lawton, Ok where Pat worked as a Finish Carpenter after my Uncle Carl passed away. Mom begin working at Lawton Hospital shortly after moving there. They moved to Mineral Wells, TX in 1964. She worked as a nurse in Mineral Wells Hospital until they moved back to Medicine Park, Ok which is just outside of Lawton. Mom and Pat finally moved to Weatherford, TX where Mom worked at the Hospital and then a nursing home until she retired. In 2002. She developed Dementia and we moved her to San Marcos, TX, so she could be close to family. My brother's wife, Agnes Draper helped take care of her. Mom was in San Marcos until she passed away in 2008.
