Dunlap, Willie

Willie Dunlap, age 87, of Plainview, Texas passed away on May 22, 2018. Graveside services will be held 10:00AM, Friday, May 25, 2018 at Plainview Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be in the Lemons Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. Services are held under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview, Texas.

Willie was born January 13, 1931 in DeKalb Texas to the parentage of the late Cuba and Luna Dunlap. He departed this life on May 22, 2018 in Plainview Texas after living, a life filled with love, friendships and charity.

He shared his childhood with his wonderful loving siblings: AC Dunlap, Alene Dunlap (Alexander), and Arnetha Dunlap who all proceeded him in death.

Willie served in the United States Army from 1948-1952 where he served as a skilled sharp-shooter. After five years of service, Willie ended his service with the Army, receiving an honorable discharge. During his time in the service, Willie married and to that relationship came forth Carol Ann. Willie later went on to marry Evelyn M. Dunlap in 1953 and to this marriage; they were blessed with seven children: Rhonda S. Dunlap Hill (deceased), Willie L. Dunlap Jr. (deceased), Carl L. Dunlap (Tina), Marilyn (Diane) Dunlap, Beverly K. Dunlap Armstrong (Paul), David W. Dunlap (deceased), and Charles E. Dunlap. Willie and Evelyn were married for 58 years until her death in 2012.

Willie L. Dunlap is survived by 5 children, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
