Smoots, Chinell, Mrs. (Charles Etta Hall)

Celebration of Life Services for Charles Etta (Hall) Smoots, 76, of Plainview, will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church 1001 W. 7th in Plainview with Pastor David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Smoots passed from this life on June 11, 2018 in Plainview.

Charles Etta Hall Smoots was born to LC and Corene Hall of January 22, 1942 in Caldwell, Texas. She graduated from Smith High School in 1961 and moved to Plainview, Tx. At an early age she gave her life to Christ at New Hope Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She married Chinell Smoots on January 22, 1972. And to the union was born Tiffany Smoots and Tyson Smoots. She worked for Plainview ISD for 36 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, two sons; Benjamin Micheal Williams and Norman Smoots, one sister; Ethel Vernell Thomas, three brothers; Lester French, LC Hall, Jr., and Napoleon Hall III, and one daughter; Elaine Boit.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters; Tiffany Smoots, Shirley Buard and Evelyn Thompson, two sons; Tyson Smoots (Angela) and Damien Nails (Belinda), one sister; Yvonne Franklin, three brothers; Edward Wayne Hall (Patricia), Bobby Eugene Hall and Quincy Allen Hall, seventeen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
