Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Saint Stephen United Methodist Church with J. Henderson of Northwest Church of Christ of Plainview officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Cemetery in Plainview by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Clay was born Oct. 8, 1958, in Olton. He was the fifth of six children and attended school in Plainview. After leaving home at an early age, he earned his education by hard work and continually striving to further his knowledge.

He was a proud father, raising his daughter by himself. He loved working with his hands and was very creative in masonry. He retired from Owens Corning as an IS/IM technical lead. He was known as the chief troubleshooter.

In 2009, he began his own business "Total Home Maintenance," specializing in outdoor kitchens, patios, and pergolas. His designs were featured twice in magazines. Clay's desire was to build something solid, innovative and with integrity; something that would last throughout the years.

Clay loved bass-boating, scuba diving and animals. He especially enjoyed vacationing on warm sunny beaches and cherished time spent with his family and friends. He volunteered at the Bridge and Catholic Family Service.

Clay was a warm, caring and generous person to many and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kay Crandall Jackson, in 2010; and a brother, Earl Dan Jackson, in 1979.

Survivors include, Plug Piehl; a daughter, Cherie Nicole Jackson; four siblings, Judy Craigo, Rod Jackson and wife Netta, Susan Felty and husband Ron, and Janie Coddington and husband Tom; and two grandchildren, Lanie Jackson and Drayton Stoker.

The family suggests memorials be to Catholic Family Services, 200 S. Tyler St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
