Rose (Rosie) Lee Riggins Lewis LUBBOCK-Rose (Rosie) Lee Riggins Lewis, 71, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Nov. 21, 2014.

Rose was born on Nov. 14, 1943, to the parentage of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and Lexie Riggins in Mineola, Texas. Later the family moved to Plainview, Texas, in 1950, where she attended Booker T. Washington School. Rose was filled with the Holy Ghost at Givens Chapel COGIC at an early age. She was employed at South Plains Health Providers in Plainview for 20 years. Later she moved to Lubbock and retired from Lubbock Digestive Disease Associates after 19 years. Rose married George S. Lewis in 1988 and remained married for 26 years. She attended Ford Memorial COGIC, then moved her membership to Agape Temple and was faithful until her death. She served faithfully on the Usher and Mother's Board.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one sister; three sons; one daughter; and three grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 26 years, Deacon George S. Lewis; one sister, Melanie (Vincent) Wilson; one brother, James Riggins; five sons, Anthony McAdoo (Christy), Kelvin McAdoo (Stephanie), David McAdoo (Barbie), Ahmad McAdoo, Curtis Lewis (Candace); eight daughters, Mary Ann (Milvin) Daniels, Ester (Ellwood) Ellis; Beverly (Ernest), Sherry (Booker), Winnie Paul, Madelene Griggs, Debbie Flowers; Pamela Autry (Curtis); two aunts, Lee Rayson and Ruth Griggs; three sister-in-laws, Ruby Riggins, Opal Lewis, and Idella Thornburg; 44 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at 11 a.m. at College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held today, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary
