McKnight, Eddie,Sr. (Mac)

Eddie McKnight Sr., age 63, of Plainview, known by friends and family as ?Mac?, passed away on April 4, 2018. Memorial gatherings and visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00PM on Friday, April 6, 2018 and from 8:00AM-12:00PM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Eddie McKnight was born on October 20, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to Carl and Alma (Smith) McKnight. Known by his coworkers as Mac, he had worked for over 37 years as a CDL cross country truck driver. He was an extremely hard worker who in his spare time was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, hiking, riding on motorcycles, and traveling.

Mac honorably served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He worked as an administration specialist and a clerk in the Air Force from 1971 to 1974. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed country music. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Carl McKnight Jr. and Glen McKnight. Mac is survived by his wife, Susana Guzman McKnight of Plainview, his son Eddie McKnight II of Lubbock; his step-daughter, Monica Tello Basmajin, and step-sons, Steve Zavala and Juan Gonzales, and his sisters, Janet McKnight Johnson and Deborah McKnight, both of Detroit.
