Escamilla, Jose, Mrs. (Ramona Luera)

Ramona Luera Escamilla, 89, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Kornerstone Chapel with Oscar Chavez, Chaplain for Area Community Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held at 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the funeral home.

Ramona was born on June 20, 1928 to Pablo and Genoveva (Sanchez) Luera in Brownsville, Texas. She married Jose Escamilla on September 16, 1951 in Brownsville, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Mary Alice Solis.

She is survived by husband, Jose Escamilla of Plainview; 3 daughters, Josie Lopez and husband Refugio of San Luis, Potosi, Mexico, Hope Rodriguez and husband David, Sr. of Hale Center, Nora Caldera of Dallas, TX; 2 sons, Juan Escamilla and wife Debbie of Plainview, Paul Escamilla and wife Jennifer of Plainview, 22 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
