Smith, Harlon O.

Services for Harlon O. Smith, 68, of New Deal will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in New Deal First Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Jones, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery under direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.

Smith died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at his residence.

He was born July 29, 1929, in Burley, Idaho. He married Gladys Webb Williams on April 6, 1984, in Boerne. He moved to New Deal from San Antonio in 1987.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Monte of Burley, Idaho; two daughters, Debbie Smith of Canyon Lake and Kara Smith of Safford, Ariz.; two stepchildren, Dr. William C. Williams of New Deal and Ricki Spengler of Canyon Lake; two brothers, Herbert of Burley, Idaho, and Fon of Washington; a sister, Theo Hollinger of Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
