Stephens, Ralph Marion, Mrs. (Dorothy Loraine Petty)

Graveside services for Dorothy Loraine Petty Stephens, 92, of Abernathy, Texas will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2010, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Mike Davis officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy.

Mrs. Stephens died Thursday, March 25, 2010, in Lubbock. She was born on May 2, 1917 in Hill County. She married Ralph Marion Stephens on April 17, 1937 in Abernathy.

He preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 2000. She moved to Abernathy with her parents, Elmer and Vera (Tarver) Petty, at age 9. She played basketball and graduated from Abernathy High School. She was owner of Abernathy Floral for over 30 years, which was her passion and she was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Stephens Kincaid; a son, Sam Stephens; a brother, Vernon Petty; and a sister, Billie Jean Harrison.
