Stephens, Ralph Marion

Graveside services for Ralph M. Stephens, 88, of Abernathy will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Abernathy Cemetery with Condy Billingsley, the Rev. David Menefee and David Bennett officiating.

Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.

He died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, in Hale Center's Hi Plains Nursing Home.

He was born Oct. 20, 1911, in Dickens County. He graduated from Girard High School, moved to Abernathy in the fall of 1936 and began farming the next year. He married Dorothy Petty on April 17, 1937, in Abernathy. They lived in Abernathy for 62 years. He began a plumbing business in 1946.

A daughter, Ann Stephens Kincaid, died in 1969.
