Thomas, Calvin Lewis,Jr. (Skip)

Services for Calvin "Skip" Lewis Thomas, Jr., 48, of New Deal will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at the Freedom Fellowship Church in Lubbock with David Peoples and Leonard Hall officiating. Burial will be at the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home in Abernathy.

Mr. Thomas died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, in Lubbock.

He was born May 16, 1957 in Ft. Worth. As a young boy living in a military family, they lived in West Virginia, Ft. Worth as well as other places. He lived in the Lubbock area for many years and married Sherry Lee Johnson July 15, 1989 in Lubbock. He had a love for animals and his horses. Skip had a beloved dog, Dixie, which went everywhere Skip did. He was a longtime member of the American Quarter Horse Association and enjoyed trail rides around Quitaque.
