Turman, Ernest DeAnthony (Pookie)

Ernest DeAnthony Turman Pookie, 32, passed away on Oct. 5, 2014.

Ernest was born on Nov. 18, 1981, in Lubbock, Texas, to John Morrison and Martha K Turman.

Ernest had an incredible love and talent for music. He was an outgoing and social person and always willing to help anyone. He was very funny and enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends.

Ernest was preceded in death by: his father, John Morrison; his grandmother, Martha Ella Turman-King; and one cousin, Leon Turman.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Martha K. Turman; grandmother, Lora Morrison; sisters, Jessica Phillips, Ieisha Turman and Tatenishia Turman; brothers, John Turman and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life services will be held Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at 12 p.m. in Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Abernathy Cemetery, Abernathy, TX.
