McDonald, David Lawrence, Mrs. (Doris Caughron)
Doris Caughron McDonald, 64, joined her heavenly Father on February 8, 2018 after a short, hard battle with cancer. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Doris was born to Glenn and Martha Caughron in Oklahoma City, OK, on February 17, 1953. Doris graduated from Plainview High school in 1971 and Texas Tech University with a bachelor of business administration in 1975.
Doris married her best friend, David Lawrence McDonald, on August 28, 1976 in Plainview, TX. Doris and David have two children - their daughter Crystal of Lubbock, and their son Clay and his wife Ashleigh of Stafford, Virginia.
Doris had a helping heart. Her kindness was felt whenever there was a need. She was a loving, caring, and supportive wife, mother and friend. She was also involved in her community. Doris played hand bells, served as a prayer warrior, and was a leader in her Sunday School class. She served on the Plainview Chamber of Commerce and Hale County Hospital Authority Board. Doris kept books for McDonald Trading Post and took over management at Evalene?s Gift?s and more in 2003 when Evalene retired.
Doris is survived by her husband, David; her daughter, Crystal; her son Clay and his wife Ashleigh; her father Glenn and his wife Barb; and her brother Don, his wife and family. Doris is preceded in death by her mother Martha, and her brother Charles.
