Fitzgerald, Jack Harmon (Papa Jack)

Jack Harmon Fitzgerald better known as ?Papa Jack? or ?Old Man? went to be with his Lord on December 6, 2017. Jack?s remains, at his request, were donated to Texas Tech Health Science Center. A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M. on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church in Plainview, TX.

Jack was the son of Celia Harmon and Clifton Fitzgerald born in Brownfield, Texas on September 2, 1929.

Jack attended school in Brownfield and played tennis. He served 3 years active duty and 5 years in the reserves with United Coast Guard. He worked at Phillips Petroleum for 38 years in Borger, TX. After retiring he drove cars for several Lubbock dealerships until his marriage to ?his bride? Alice. He moved to Plainview in 2006.

Jack was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, member of Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite, York Rite and Kiva Shrine for over 60 years. He enjoyed playing dominoes at the senior citizen center. He cared deeply for Norma, the director and many friends there that he played with.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Imagene Ward and Ellene Rives; niece Sharol Villinis; two grandsons, Shane Crabtree and Shanon Hareford and a step daughter, Pat Simmons.

Jack is survived by his bride, Alice; a son, Clif Fitzgerald and wife Lori of Oklahoma; stepsons, Greg Tallant and wife Dorothy of Oklahoma, Jimmy Hareford and wife Rhonda of Plainview; stepdaughters, Starla Harrison of Arkansas, Helene Crabtree and husband Danny of Lubbock; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Judy Agee and husband Dick of San Angelo, Brenda Norman and husband Jesse of Odessa, Toya Windson and Charles Ward, both of Lubbock; special friends, Frances Sams for 80 years, Scott Young and wife, Linda and Chris Hall and wife Veronica and kids.

A special thank you to all that helped in Jack?s care for the past few months, Lubbock VA Home Base Care team, Area Community Hospice and our special angel Denise Westmoreland who cared for Papa Jack and shared his final dance.
