Hood, Randy Joe

Services for Randy Joe Hood, 60, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 18, 2017, in the Abernathy First United Methodist Church with Rev. Pedro Cruz, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy.

Mr. Hood died Saturday evening, November 11, 2017, in Abernathy.

He was born July 18, 1957 in Idalou, TX to Cleopha and Josie Mae (Cooper) Hood. Randy was a lifelong Abernathy resident and played football at Abernathy High School. He loved horses and farming, and worked farming and was employed with Hi Plains Drilling for the past 11 years. Randy loved his country music.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Cleo Hood, 2 brothers, Cleo Hood, Jr and Ricky Hood and a sister Freda Norris.

He is survived by his Mother, Josie Hood of Abernathy, 2 sons, Randy Joe Hood, Jr, of Plainview, TX and Shannon Hood of Big Spring, TX, 2 daughters, Danica Hood of Lewisville, TX and Tifany Hood of Lubbock, TX, a brother, Mickel Hood of Abernathy, 2 sisters, Virginia Hood of Abernathy and Anita Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK, and 9 grandchildren, Hannah, Hayven, Kiara, Nyah, Jayden, Trevaughn, Aburee, Tiana and Amari.
