Waters, Christine Marie Austin

Christine Marie Waters of Lubbock departed this life on Tuesday, March 21, 2012 at the age of 87. She was born June 10, 1924 in Durango, CO to Charles Ashley and Ethel (Stephenson) Austin, Sr.

She worked as church secretary and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Abernathy. Christine also served as the former secretary for the Abernathy Chamber of Commerce.

Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, one son, eight grandchildren, and one precious great-grandson.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Lisa Gaye Waters; a brother, Charles Ashley Austin, Jr., and a sister, LaVerne Kotara.

Family will receive friends from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Abernathy. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Abernathy IOOF Cemetery.
