Burial will be at Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Adan went to be with our Lord on Feb. 2, 2008. He was born on April 8, 1928, in Mission, to Jesus and Adelina Villegas. He was united in marriage to Micaela Galaviz on July 19, 1948 in Lubbock. They lived in various cities and settled in New Deal in 1956. In 1960 the couple built their home in Abernathy where they raised their daughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Adelina; a brother, Jose; and a sister, Louise Thiel.

Adan worked with Kerr Construction Co. until his retirement in 1990. He then bought his own vehicle and continued his construction company called A. R. Villegas Trucking until 2003.

Adan was a very loving father who spent much time with his daughters and continued the role when he became a grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved the game of baseball which he played as a young man and watched every game his grandsons and great-grandsons played

Survivors include his wife, Micaela; three daughters, Lucy (Tom) Brown, Diana Hernandez of Lubbock and Linda (Bob) Cuevas of Plano; three sisters, Eva Dezern, Patsy Villegas of Lubbock, and Janie Castillo of Weslaco; two brothers, Robert of Coleman and Charlie of Plainview; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The Villegas family would like to thank our loving and supportive family and friends and the staff of The Covenant Cardiac Unit for their help and support.
