Taylor, Kent

Kent Taylor, 83, a lifetime resident of Plainview, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 in his home. He was born on August 7, 1934 to the late Henry David and Cloe Taylor. He graduated from Plainview High School, then attended Arlington State College. Kent proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On January 23, 1958, he married Carol Ann Cartwright, and together they began their family. He was the owner of Kent Taylor Company of Plainview and was a member of First Christian Church and the Local VFW Post.

Kent is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Timmy Jay Taylor and wife Rose of Sweetwater, Grant Taylor and wife Ann of Plainview, Rhonda McCain and husband Tim of Lockney and D'Linda Mullins of Lubbock; brother, Robert Taylor of Amarillo; sister, Imogene Kelly of Guyman; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and eight siblings.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Plainview, with Rev. Richard Dye officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to the First Christian Church of Plainview or your local Veterans Administration offices.
