Harriss, Gary W.

Gary W. Harriss, 63, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Plainview, Texas, with Associate Pastor Mark Leach officiating. Burial will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Gary was born on May 8, 1954, in Plainview, Texas, to Mary Glenna (Voyles) and Arther Davis Harriss Sr. He grew up and attended schools in Plainview. He married Teresa Shedd on June 6, 1975, in Plainview. He worked for Daffern Steel for 42 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing games, watching sports, playing and watching his grandkids. He did anything and everything for his family. He was an active member of Harvest Christian Fellowship, past deacon at Bethel Baptist Church and a table leader at Bravehearts.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Harriss of Plainview; two daughters, Melissa Olguin and her husband Gabriel of Plainview, Kim Villanueva and her husband Richard of Plainview; three brothers, Arther Harriss Jr. and his wife Katheryn of Plainview, Charles Harriss and his wife, Sandy of Strawn, Texas and Randy Harriss and his wife Kristi of Plainview; three sisters, Joy Pike of Dover, Arkansas, Sherry Richardson and her husband Kirk of Hale Center, Tana Abbott and her husband Jeff of Grafford, Texas; five grandchildren, Kalianne, Cambryn, Aveni, Brenlee and Alyvia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
