Henry, Garland Keithel (Poppie)

Keithel Henry passed away March 17, 2014, in Lubbock, TX at the age of 83. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, March 20th at Sanders Funeral Home located at 1402 Main Street, Lubbock, TX. Services for Keithel will take place at First Baptist Church, New Deal, TX on Friday, March 21st at 10am. Rev. Jack Thompson will be officiating. Burial will be held at Abernathy Cemetery in Abernathy, TX.

Keithel Henry was born on May 20, 1930 in Roaring Springs, TX. As a child, his family relocated to the Lubbock area where he graduated from New Deal High School. He married the love of his life, Ann Davis on December 19, 1954 where they spent the next 59 years sharing their lives together in marriage. Keithel spent many years farming and working as a carpenter. After retiring, he worked at Avis where he was surrounded by many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Herman Henry and mother Ava Henry.

He is survived by his wife, Ann of Lubbock and sister, Vernell Rhodes of Aztec NM; daughter, Kim Westbrook and husband Cullus of New Deal, son, Kory Henry and wife Belinda of Waxahachie, TX. Five (5) grandchildren; Missy and Brooks Westbrook; Kaleb, Kameron, and Madison Henry; two (2) great grandchildren, Kolton and Kinsley. Keithel was known as "Poppie" by all of his grandchildren and to most who knew him. He had great love and adoration for his Lord and Savior, family, many nieces, nephews and life-long friends.
