Martinez, Cornelio, Mrs. (Maria Reyes)

Services for Maria Reyes Martinez, 81, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at St. Isidore Catholic Church with the Rev. Rene Perez officiating. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Burial will be in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels of Lubbock. She died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at her residence.

She was born April 9, 1923 in Mexico. She married Cornelio Martinez, 1938 in Mexico. He died in 1967. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, where she served as a Guadalupana, Cursillista, and the Altar Society.

Survivors include nine sons, Max Martinez of Zapata, Jessie Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Jose Antonio Martinez, all of Lubbock, David Martinez of Clinton, Okla., Rudy Martinez of Abernathy, Ricky Martinez, Ramiro Martinez, and Roy Martinez, all of Lubbock; two daughters, Mary Lou Flores of Lubbock, and Margarita Broaden of Burns Flat, Okla.; five sisters, Pascula and Tomasa Reyes, both of Mexico, Flora Palacios of Juarez, Mexico, Concha Reyes of Monterrey, Mexico, and Alicia Reyes of Gomez, Palacio, Mexico; a brother, Marin Reyes of Mexico; 29 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
