Oliver, Johnny (Spanky)

Johnny "Spanky" Oliver, 66, of Plainview passed away on Oct. 17, 2017, in Houston, Texas. A memorial dervice will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at Kornerstone Chapel with Henry Martin of New Life Fellowship in Hale Center officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at Kornerstone.

He was born Oct. 20, 1950, in Brownwood, Texas, to Lloyd Calvert Oliver and Florence Elizabeth Krischke Oliver. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Johnny graduated from Hereford High School in 1970. He married Debra Joyce Horn on Oct. 2, 1970, in Hereford, Texas. He worked for Walmart Distribution as a truck driver for over 32 years.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Debbie Oliver of Plainview; three sons, James Oliver and wife Shelly of Lockney, Michael Oliver and wife Lindsay of Cypress, Texas, Miles Chatham and wife Brandee of Liberal, Kansas; one brother, Jim Oliver and wife Wanda of Goldthwaite, Texas; one sister, Jayne Robinson of Duncan, Okla.; six grandchildren, Cortney Carter and husband Clayton, Christopher Oliver, Zachary Oliver, Nikki Oliver, Cameron Oliver, and Brooke Chatham; one great-granddaughter, Aubri Carter and numerous nieces and nephews.
