McGee, Carl P.
Memorial services for Carl P. McGee, 73, of Lubbock will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, in the Maranatha Church of God, 7501 Ave. U, Lubbock with Rev. Les Rutherford officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy.
Mr. McGee died Thursday, October 1, 2009, at his home in Lubbock.
He was born March 17, 1936 in Hollis, Okla. He met Virgie Healy in Abernathy, and they were married October 23, 1955 in Lubbock. They moved to Conscience Dam, N.M. before returning to Lubbock in 1968. He owned and operated American Marine until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the Maranatha Church of God in Lubbock.
He is survived by his wife, Virgie McGee; three children, Steve and Cheryl McGee, Deborah and David Ray, and Robert and Shelli McGee all of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, Steven McGee, Jr., Nathan Hamilton, Amber McGee, Bryce Ray, Shanna McGee, Zachary McGee and Shane McGee; one great-grandson, Caden Hamilton; two brothers, Harold McGee of San Angelo, and Ronnie McGee of Lubbock; and one sister, Euleen Rackley of Lubbock.
