Duckett, Kenneth Martin

Kenneth Martin Duckett, 79, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, in Lubbock, Texas. Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, October. 2, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Plainview, Texas, with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Kenneth was born Sept. 23, 1938, in Clarendon, Texas, to J.B. and Rose Ada Reid Duckett. He spent his childhood in Clarendon and moved to Plainview in 1947. He worked along with his father building houses in Plainview. He built many of the buildings at Wayland Baptist University. He also farmed for many years in the area. He married Cleta Cross on Aug. 7, 1959, in Plainview, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he was a deacon, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was the ultimate family man. He never missed a single event that his grandchildren were involved in.

He is survived by his wife, Cleta Duckett of Plainview; a daughter, Kenna Hatch and her husband, Kyle of Plainview; a son, Martin Duckett of Plainview; two sisters, Rose Ann Bailey of Plainview and Donna Moore of Amarillo; three grandsons, Koby Hatch and his wife, Meredith, Kace Hatch and his fianc?e, Chelsea Miller and Keaton Hatch.
