Rogers, Kenneth

A memorial service for Kenneth Rogers, 74, of Abernathy, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Abernathy Church of Christ with Steve Gauntt officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.

Mr. Rogers died July 20, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born July 21, 1933, in New Moore. He married Montez Smith on Sept. 26, 1953. in Clovis, N.M. He had lived in Abernathy since 1971. He enjoyed playing dominoes, farming, and being with his family. He was a member of Abernathy Church of Christ.

Survivors include, his wife, Montez Rogers of Abernathy; two sons, Dick and wife Lynett Rogers of Irving, and Doug and wife Donna Rogers of Lubbock; two daughters, Cheryl and husband Boyd Glover of Lawton, Okla., and Cathy Rogers of Keller; five grandchildren, Dustin, Ashleigh, Martin, Cody and Amy; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Zachary, Colby and Ava; one brother, C.L. Rogers of Lubbock; two sisters, Bonnie Teague of Lubbock and Margie Fails of Meadow..

He was preceded by a brother, Bob Rogers; and four sisters, Winelle Blackmon, Sybil Ellis, Maxine Thompson and Jackie Jo Wardlaw.
