Hearn, Alan Gene

Alan Gene Hearn, 50, of Amarillo passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Plainview First Assembly with Bishop Leonard Chatham and Eugene Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas.

A visitation will be held at Kornerstone Funeral Directors on Friday, July 21, 2017, from
5 to 7 p.m.

Alan Hearn was born on July 16, 1967, in Petersburg, Texas, to Flordia Mae Hearn and Norman Smoots. He graduated from Ruidoso High School in Ruidoso, N.M., and attended Wayland Baptist University. He served in the U.S. Army, was a member of Greater Love Temple Church in Amarillo and worked for Beaver Express as a commercial truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and both sets of grandparents.

He is survived by three daughters, Allyson Hearn, Kirsten Hearn and Adrienne Hearn of Amarillo; two sisters, Gwendolyn Hearn of Plainview and Crystal Thomas of Houston; five grandchildren; his stepmother, Charlesetta Smoots of Plainview; friend, Kim Gentry Hearn of Lubbock.
