Watson, William (Bill)
William "Bill" Watson, 75, of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 in the Lemons Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at the Funeral Home.
Bill was born Aug. 18, 1941, in Lamar County (Paris, Texas) to Vollie and Bertha (Dopp) Watson. He was raised for several years in Childress and his family moved to Plainview. He married Glenda Stone on May 25, 1962, at Parkview Baptist Church in Plainview. He was a mechanic of irrigation wells with Buck's Irrigation in Lubbock for several years until the tornado hit Lubbock on May 11, 1970. He and Glenda and their son, Randy moved to Plainview after that. He was the owner/operator of Bill's Truck Service in Plainview since the late '80's. Bill loved to bowl and participated in league bowling. He and Glenda have attended Living Hope Family Worship Center for about 17 years. He was a kind and loving husband, father and Pawpaw and he will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vollie and Bertha Watson; three brothers, Albert Watson, Butch Watson and Donnie Watson and two sisters, Thelma Parnell and Betty Jean Houston.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Glenda, of the home; one son, Randy Watson and wife Kelli of Plainview; three grandchildren, Amber Smith and husband Jason of Plainview, Brittany Craft and husband Tony of Norfolk, Neb., and Cody Watson, of Amarillo. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lulabell Love and Marie Chavez of Clovis, N.M.
