Keeter, Ellis Wayne
HEREFORD - Wayne Keeter, 70, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Palo Duro Baptist Church of Wildorado
with Dr. Ron Muller officiating. The family will have a private interment.
Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.
Mr. Keeter was born Nov. 9, 1934, the son of Dolph and Nina Keeter, in Cloud
Chief, Okla. He married Frances Schwartz on Dec. 20, 1953, in Plainview. Mr.
Keeter was a veteran, having served in the Army as a sergeant for six years.
He served as the district agricultural representative for more than 39 years
for Pioneer Natural Gas Co., now known as XCEL Natural Gas Co. He was promoted
to office manager in 1989.
Mr. Keeter also served as the Whiteface Breakfast Club president from 1977 to
1978, the chairman for the Diamond Jubilee Parade in 1991, was a driver for
Stevens 5 Star Dealership for a number of years and was a member of Palo Duro
Baptist Church of Wildorado.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Brenda Stow and husband, Robert, of
Dawn; a sister, Leta Mae Lawson of Lubbock; two grandsons, Brandon Stow and
wife, Chelsea, of Lubbock and James Stow and wife, Tessa, of Canyon; and a
great-granddaughter, Taytum Stow of Canyon.
The family suggests memorials be to the Hospitality House of the Veterans
Hospital, 6010 W. Amarillo Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
