Bruce Rigler, 91, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2017, at the funeral home.

Bruce was born on April 3, 1926, to James and Earnestine Rigler in Plainview, Texas. He graduated from Plainview High School and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Rigler was a retired Plainview area farmer and dairyman. He worked tirelessly as a dairy farmer working long hard hours through all types of weather conditions. He served in various leadership positions for Associated Milk Producers, Inc., and the National, Texas and Randall County dairy herd improvement associations. He was a member of Hale County Farm Bureau for 45 years and served as a director for many of those years. Mr. Rigler was the state's longest-tenured Region 17 Education Service Center board member serving for 41 years from 1970-2011. He was board chairman for seven years and was board secretary from 1996-2011. He served on various other boards including the Plainview Independent School District board, the Natural Gas Users Association, National Dairy Association, Texas DHIA, High Plains Underground Water Conservation District from January 1994 to 2012 and the Texas Water Conservation Association. He was recognized by the Plainview Chamber of Commerce in 1994 for outstanding community service and support in Agriculture and Education. He received the Roy McClung Service Award for his involvement with the WBU Athletic Program. He was inducted into Wayland's Athletic Hall of Honor in 1995. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder.

Mr. Rigler was preceded in death his parents and one daughter, Gary Lyn Rigler.

He is survived by Ava Rigler of Plainview; two sons, Stan Rigler and wife Juli of Plainview and Randal Rigler and wife Georgia of Okanogan, Washington; one brother, Robert Rigler of Plainview; five grandchildren, Taylor Rigler and wife Lauren of Carrollton, Kara Lyn Clawson and husband Brock of Bothell, Wash., Christopher Stephen Rigler and wife Kory of Bothell, Wash., Timothy Ross Rigler of Seattle, Wash., and Sarah England of Riverside, Calif.; and 10 great-grandchildren.
