Ward, Tommy Joe

Hale Center ? Memorial services for Tommy Joe Ward, 47, of Plainview, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hale Center Church of Christ with Silas Short, minister of the Church of Christ in O?Donnell, officiating.

Cremation arrangements are by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.

Mr. Ward died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at his residence in Plainview.

He was born July 23, 1951, in Venus, Texas. He grew up in the Children?s Home of Lubbock and moved to Hale Center in 1958 to foster care home of Wilbur and Katharyn Foraker. He graduated from Estacado Trade School in Lubbock and worked for the Hickory Inn in Lubbock and Furr?s Cafeteria. He was a member of Hale Center Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Joey Ward of Lubbock; his foster parents, Jack and Katharyn Smith of Hale Center; two sisters, Mary Seward of Fort Worth and Betty Mayo of Houston; two brothers, Harvey Ward of Conroe and Charles Ward of Hughes Springs; a foster sister, Jeannie Karen Jones of Lubbock; two foster brothers, Ronnie Foraker of Hasley and Lonnie Foraker of Shallowater; and his foster grandmother, Fannie Davis of Hale Center.
