Tullis, Glen W., Mrs. (Dorothy Pearl Keas)

Dorothy Pearl Keas Tullis, 93, of Plainview passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017, in Tulia, Texas.

Services will be at 10:00 Monday, July 3, at the First Baptist Church in Plainview, 205 W. Eighth St., with Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park located at 101 S. Joliet St. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
Dorothy was born in Canute, Oklahoma, on Dec. 30, 1923, to Elsie Adline (Moran) and Vain Bodine Keas. She was raised in a farming community; Port, Oklahoma, and attended school at Port ISD. She grew up living on the farm with her six siblings. Dorothy was married to Glen W. Tullis where they had a farming business until November 1952. They moved their family of five children to Hale Center, Texas, to live near other family members and farm. In 1961, they opened a successful bonding and real estate business in Plainview.

Dorothy was a quick witted person who loved living life to the fullest. She was a woman of integrity who put God and family first. Dorothy always strived to do her best and look impeccable. She loved to wear beautiful clothing and accessories. She raised her five children and instilled in them to live by the Bible, work hard, and get an education. She encouraged all her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren to live by these standards. She attended Wayland Baptist College and received a degree in education. She taught school at Cotton Center, Hale Center and Seth Ward in Plainview. Later, she obtained a Master's Degree in Counseling. She worked for Plainview ISD, as a school counselor for the remainder of her career. She inspired many students during her career. She retired after 35 years of working in the school system. In 2000, she moved to Lubbock where she enjoyed retirement attended church, traveled, played bridge, and enjoyed friends and family. In 2015, she moved to Tulia to be closer to family.

Survivors include a son, Roy Lee Tullis and wife Judy of Plainview, and three daughters, Glenna Crooks and husband Don of Tulia, Texas, Barbara Pickett of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Sue Thompson of Forney, Texas; 10 grandchildren: four grandsons, Kevin Crooks, Ricky Tullis (Elizabeth), Glen Pickett and James Pickett: six granddaughters, Kim Crooks Bristo (Marc), Kristi Crooks Lockaby (Todd), Kippi Crooks Cogdell (Dick), Tammy Pickett Marlow (Tommy), Sheila Thompson and Debra Thompson Mikulik (Bryan); four step-grandchildren, Bradley Wright, Brian Wright, Brandon Wright, Jaime Marr; 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters; husband, Glen; daughter, Mary Ann; son-in-law, James Pickett; granddaughter, Madison Kate Lockaby; granddaughter-in-law, Ann Crooks.
