Rivera, Manuel, Mrs. (Beatriz Martinez)

Beatriz Rivera, 86, of Dumas, formerly of Plainview, passed away on Feb. 20, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Pastor Guadalupe Moreno officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home at 6 p.m. and a prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017.

Beatriz Rivera was born on April 22, 1930, in Brownsville, Texas, to Alejandro and Juanita (Ramirez) Martinez. She married Manuel Rivera in 1943 in the Rio Grande Valley. Together, they proudly raised their eight children.
She was a hard worker having served in housekeeping for years at Central Plains Hospital which is now Covenant Hospital. She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family.

Beatriz was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Manuel Rivera and Jessie Rivera and two brothers, Manuel Martinez and Luis Loya.

Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, Juan Rivera, Rudy Rivera and wife Nina all of Plainview and Ruben Rivera, of Lovington N.M.; three daughters, Guadalupe Pina of Modesto, Calif., Gloria Lozano and husband Alfredo of Arlington, Texas, and Yolanda Rivera of Dumas, Texas; 39 grandchildren, over 46 great-grandchildren and over 25 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Francisco Balli and five sisters, Rosa Martinez, Frances Lollar, Georgia Patino, Lucia Moreno and Pilar Escobar.
