McMennamy, Barry Eugene

Barry Eugene McMennamy, 75, of Plainview passed away at his home in Plainview on March 19, 2017. Barry was born on Jan. 5, 1942, to T.D. and Allice McMennamy. Barry was married to Janie Gregg McMennamy on July 21, 1961. Barry was a loving husband, father and grandpa with great devotion to his family. Barry was the owner of a family business, Mac's Appliance Repair, through which he spent years providing appliance services to Plainview and the surrounding communities. Barry is survived by his wife, Janie; his daughter, Tonjua McMennamy Smith and husband Doug; his daughter Teresa McMennamy Kinkaid and husband Rob; his granddaughter Cortney Smith Becker and husband Taylor; his granddaughter Whitney Smith Trammel and husband Justin; his grandson Trent Kinkaid; his granddaughter Caroline Kinkaid; and his great-granddaughter Harper Becker. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Melvin McMennamy, and Melvin's wife Lynn McMennamy. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Area Community Hospice and its nurses for care and compassion provided for Barry and the family. The family asks that any person wishing to honor Barry and his memory do so by making a donation to Area Community Hospice. A private family service was held upon his passing on Sunday, March 19, 2017.
