Valent?n Maga?a, 52, of Plainview, passed away April 16, 2017.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home.

There will be a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Lemons Memorial Chapel.

Valent?n was born in Laredo, Texas, on Feb. 15, 1965, to Manuel Jes?s and Isidra (Vasquez) Maga?a. He was raised and lived his entire life in Plainview. Valent?n worked for many years at the Farmers Compress in Plainview.

He is remembered by Mary, his wife and companion of over 14 years as a kind, generous man. Valent?n was always ready to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a gifted handyman. Family was very important to him and it was evident in his love for his wife, his parents, his children, grandchildren and his siblings. He enjoyed dancing, playing dominoes and chess. Valent?n was very loving and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his parents; his grandmother, Altagracia Arias of Laredo, Texas; his wife, Mary Garza of the home; three sons, Valent?n Maga?a Jr. of Nebraska, Timoteo Maga?a and wife Ana of Vernon, Cipriano Maga?a of California; stepson, Andrew Ray Jimenez and wife Gennie of Canyon; daughter, Norelia Maga?a and husband David of Dallas; stepdaughter, Marie Jimenez and husband Aaron of Plainview; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Jessie Maga?a and Daniel Maga?a, both of Plainview; and three sisters, Juanita Campos of Petersburg and Lucinda Maga?a and Rosa Maria Maga?a, both of Plainview. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
