Howell, Shelby,Jr., Mrs. (Faye Rowland Lewellen)

Faye Howell, 93, passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, in Matador, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Ted Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas.

Faye was born on May 26, 1923, in Marietta, Okla., to Jess and Helen Rowland. The family moved to Plainview in 1928. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1941. She married Connally Lewellen on June 13, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was married to Shelby Howell Jr. on Aug. 25, 1999. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Wesley Bible Class for over 50 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Shelby Howell Jr.; two brothers, Jess Roland Jr. and Bill Rowland; one sister, Mary Hoggins.

She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Hindman of Roaring Springs, Texas, and Deborah Lewellan of Lockhart, Texas; one stepson Richard Howell of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Iris Leonard of Irving, Texas; two grandchildren, Buff Rattan of Lubbock, Texas and Jeff Ramsey of Roaring Springs, Texas; five great-grandchildren Steven Culp, Crosby Culp, William Rattan, Maddison Rattan and McKennan Rattan; two great-great-grandchildren Connally Culp and Graham Culp.
