Garcia, Arturo R. (Arthur)

Arturo "Arthur" R. Garcia, 96, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Oscar Chavez, chaplain of Area Community Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Garcia was born on July 28, 1920. He married Dominga Garcia on Aug. 25, 1959, in Plainview. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Garcia was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Dominga Garcia of Plainview; four daughters, Felma Sanchez and husband Ray of Davenport, Iowa, Mary Lou Favela & husband Milton Jr. of Grand Prairie, Elizabeth Rodriguez and husband Rene of Amarillo and Cynthia Ruiz and husband Rene of Plainview; two sons, Arthur Garcia Jr. and wife Elena of Lubbock and Jimmy Garcia and wife Beatrice of Plainview; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
