Downey, John Wesley, Mrs. (Sarah Irene Hall)

Sarah Irene Downey, 98, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Ron Warren, officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas.

Sarah was born on April 24, 1919, in Miller, Oklahoma. She married John Wesley Downey on March 11, 1943, in Tucson, Arizona. They lived in Halfway for 55 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; William Albert and Dolly Hall and her husband; John Wesley Downey
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Johnny Downey and wife Norma of Halfway; two grandchildren, David and Karen Downey of Lubbock and Lori and Scott McCrory of Allen; and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Plainview, 205 W. Eighth St., Plainview, TX 79072.
